For his latest creation L'Absolu, Boris Gibé wanted to work on a vertiginous structure, offering a physical experience to the spectators. Since 2008, this project has been part of the reflection on the re-contextualization of the viewer's perception.
"I wanted to bring the spectator into a realistic space, charged with symbolic power, and then transform this place into an abandoned space, a closed door, a court, a chasm, an absolute centre, a tangle of space, a call to emptiness, nothingness and infinity. I hesitated in the choice of scenography between a water tower, a mill, a silo or a dovecote. The silo finally won it by its industrial design.”
After conducting the first formal research, the reflection on the structure allowed Boris to open up and invite other perspectives and skills on the project, bringing together two architects Clara Gay-Bellile and Charles Bédin, as well as a structural engineer Quentin Alart. They worked together for a year on the design of this tower of Babel, then organised its construction over a second year at Marigny-le Cahouet station (21). Under the mode of a participative workcamp, the Lycée Technique de Montbard and the precious help of : Alain Frérot, Andréa Bozza, Alexis Auffray, Andrea Bozza, Armande Jammes, Bertrand Duval, Clara Charlie, Cécilia Delestre, Cille Lanssade, Gaël Richard, Gérard Naque, Ikram, Jean Camilleri, John Carroll, Kheira Terbah, Marinette Julien, Molly Gruey, Pénélope Demma, Ranka Piffou, Richard Rivers, Sarah Pécout, Suzanne Péchenart, Samuel Bodin, Tiziano Lavoratornovi, Tristan Cola, Ueli Hirzel, Ulysse Lacoste.
Approved in December 2014 according to ERP-CTS regulations, Le Silo is a travelling sheet metal tent 9m in diameter, 13m high and with a capacity of 100 seats overhanging the track from the top of 2 peripheral stairs that overlap each other.
Even before embarking on the creation of its next show "L'absolu", the Silo team set off on the road in the summer of 2015 and stopped over in Fribourg, welcomed by the Tour Vagabonde for a "Abracadabra" programme...Some images on RTS TV . Different companions of the company, performers, dancers, acrobats & musicians are invited to inaugurate the structure in order to discover together and in public the first steps of the new challenges offered by this strange volume of representation.
This strange object then continues its journey with the creation of L'absolu in Marigny-le-Cahouet (2015 - 2016), Besancon (November 2016), Chateau de Monthelon in Montreal (March - August 2017), and Vilnius in Lithuania (August - September 2017), then takes off on tour since the first performance of the absolute created in Besancon in October 2017. More than 100 performances have already been performed in France, the Czech Republic, Lithuania, Belgium and the Netherlands.
